Mentorship in Dominican Republic (Spanish)

Mentors can help someone improve in their career, expand their network, and pick up new skills. Also, having a mentor can provide them an objective point of view on challenges and opportunities. These might help them develop new skills, improve their productivity, receive helpful criticism, stay inspired, and stay laser-focused on their goals.

I'll concentrate on two mentorship examples found in the Dominican Republic's music

The Dominican Republic has a growing interest in musical arts that began in the 15th  century. In the Dominican Republic, military bands at this period began to gain enormous popularity. These military bands would be directed by a teacher or instructors who would mentor trainees, just like conventional high school marching bands. By doing this, the mentors would be providing their mentees with the information and instruction they require to improve their expertise. The "Father of Dominican Art," Colonel Juan Bautista Alfonseca, was so named. By converting Dominican Flock music into officially prepared songs, he attained this title. By his guidance, he was able to create a fresh and innovative musical style.

Drum making is used in the video below as an example of mentorship in the Dominican Republic. The congo  drum has a significant impact on many aspects of Latin life, including the physical, social, and religious ones. These congo drums are played to convey emotions, celebrate, mourn, and lament. They are played during times of peace and strife, planting and harvesting, giving birth and dying. Given that the skill of drum making started in the 16th century it had to be passed down from generation to generation.
